Was a 1971 ford mustang convertible a manual top or did it have power?

if it was manual how did it work. does it have snaps to hold it down when its opened? or would it be straps? then once you put the top back up does it clip into something or does it snap? I don't have one of these cars and i'm very interested in possibly owning one. (I just love the way they look) I just want to know what i'm getting myself into.
