Which bulb is brighter and which shines the farthest?

Ok so I need some help. I am trying to buy some HID lights for my mustang and I’m also trying to buy some headlights to go with them. I don’t really know much about the different K’s in the bulbs like the 3000k, 5000k, 8000k or 12000k.
