What happens if i dont get my wisdom teeth out?

My dentist has already told me that I hafta have my wisdom teeth removed....but what happens if I don't? I dont want to have them removed for two reasons...1 we know the dentist personally( I go to his family's house ALL the time) and if a say something off color when I wake up from the meds I don't want to be embarrassed... And 2 I have ALWAYS wanted braces because I don't really like my teeth and he says I don't need them....if I didn't have them removed would that make my teeth more crooked so I would have to get braces??? I know that sounds weird and horrible but it's just a question;) thanksXD
