My shifter is stuck in park!!!?

I have a 1995 mustang 3.8 automatic and I parked on my street last night. The next morning the shifter won't shift out of park...in other words I can't press the shift release button. If I try with all might with both hands I can shift it and drive but I didn't have to do this last night...help please
